Affirmation is:


Be Still

You know that feeling you get When You Are in an OULA class ... when the stress and responsibility are gone, the ego and judgment disappear, and all you hear is the music, all you feel is your heart beating, and all you see is beauty around? Imagine what amazing things we could accomplish if we any carried that feeling into our entire day? If we could tear down the walls and boundaries that we (and others) have put up and could be free to be our most full, authentic selves. Let's work on letting go of anything That is holding us back from living our lives most full and fantastic. Together, we will focus on bringing what we experience in an OULA class to our everyday lives and encourage those around us to do the same.  
 
Our affirmation for this month is #bestill.  It is with hope that we enter this new month with a grateful heart. That we can sit with all that we are, all that we have, all that we do, and know that we are enough. Our intention for this month is that we allow the stillness that we see and feel in nature to guide us to a place of peace in our our mind, body and soul. It is through this stillness that we experience clarity of thought, decrease in anxiety and a greater sense of peace.

This month, we encourage you to give yourself more time to do less. Yes, in this crazy month of shopping, traveling, party planning, decorating... let's try to take more time to do less. Out shopping and feeling overwhelmed by your list? Take the time to stop, treat yourself to a coffee or a sweet treat somewhere and just sit and enjoy it. Not scrolling through Facebook or shopping online or texting. Allow the mind to quiet, the body to be still, and notice how that feels.

While dancing, can you find the moments of stillness in the movements? Nearly every single dance has stillness choreographed into it, and these are usually my favorite parts. Can you stand in stillness for even just a half a second longer, as the world goes on twirling and swirling around you? Try it. It feels good.
